Mathieu graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Alberta in 1991 and has been practicing commercial real estate in Calgary since then. Mathieu has abundant experience in office and retail leasing and sales, in addition specializes in all manner of industrial leasing and sales including building and land development.

As Director – Special Projects, Mathieu loves to bring creative solutions to challenging real estate issues. Whether “up-valuing” cash-flow property into owner-user opportunities with lease termination or condominiumization, or coordinating transactions like lease-to-own or sale-leaseback. Mathieu uses his experience to manage each part of the marketing effort from market plan implementation and site selection to negotiation and financing. Roger received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria, and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of British Colombia. Prior to entering the commercial real estate field, Roger spent fourteen years in international marketing and finance operations for major Canadian and International companies.

A founding partner in Calgary SMI Commercial Real Estate, Roger has over fifteen years experience in commercial sales including multi-residential housing, seniors care facilities, multi-use commercial projects, and foreclosure actions. His clients include the major lending institutions, REITs and Canada’s leading senior housing providers.

Jeff graduated from the University of Alberta and spent the initial portion of his business career with multi-national organizations, specializing in the fields of human resources, sales, marketing, and general management. During the past 30 years, Jeff has worked as a commercial real estate specialist based initially in Vancouver, B.C., and latterly in Calgary, Alberta markets.

Specializing in office and retail tenant representation, Jeff has negotiated lease acquisitions and renewals on behalf of national, regional, and local retailers and office users.

Over the past few years, Jeff has also been retained to acquire development properties on behalf of clients who wish to create new properties or to acquire properties to “add value” to existing properties.

With Fifteen years experience, Grant adds to our team a diverse array of real estate experience. He brings with him a solid background gained in the asset management field and applies his knowledge within our investment division which is his primary focus. His strength lies in his ability to be both analytical, practical and creative in the transaction process.

Over the years, Grant, has been involved in numerous transactions, ranging from multi family, commercial, land development and tenant lease negotiations acting for both public and private entities. He also has experience in the real estate foreclosure area. Grant works hard to stay on top of the latest trends and thoroughly enjoys putting the “deals” together.

Craig brings more than 35 years of successful business experience to the SMI Commercial Real Estate team. He has worked for multi-national companies, run his own business ventures and spearheaded commercial developments. Clients will value Craig’s strong sales and negotiating skills and his extensive background in commercial construction, financing and property development.

Born in Calgary, Craig has lived though out the province of Alberta in all the major centres. Married to Jane for 28 years, they have lived in the Davisburg area south of Calgary for 18 years.

Both Craig and Jane have been active supporters of many charitable endeavours such as Rotary Clubs, Ducks Unlimited, Providence Child Development Centre, volunteering at Spruce Meadows and the Davisburg Community Centre.

David has over 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate field having worked for some major international companies. David has spent time in the industrial and investment sales areas as well as the relatively new self storage markets as a developer but his main focus is office leasing.

David is unique in the fact that he has experience both on the brokerage side of things and he also has 10 years of experience as a Leasing Manager on the landlord side with Manulife Financial. David uses this experience to his advantage when he is negotiating on behalf of his clients.

David works exclusively as a Tenant representative.

David also has had a technical and construction career and holds the CET Electrical designation which has helped him on numerous occasions with Tenant buildout issues.
